I am always inspired by the perfectly curated lobby’s and suites in the resorts and vacation rentals we visit, both here and abroad. As I enter our hotel room or vacation rental, my eye scans from left to right, and back again, taking in every detail. I appreciate how each space, each table top, the art work, mini -bar and the bathroom including the sink top, shower and bathtub, are all so meticulously designed and every detail is considered, from the forks and knives to the accessories, baskets, books, artifacts, wooden bowls, mirrors, picture frames, art, lamps, and more. The level of attention to detail is incredible and it creates a visually pleasing experience. I’m particularly obsessed with design and I admire how each curated detail, even down to the sparkling water bottle, welcome basket, and key chain, adds to the overall aesthetic.
If you’re looking for shops that offer similar curated experiences, here are five options that range in price from the most expensive to more affordable options. Remember, luxury can be affordable, if you know where to look:
SOBU on College Ave, Oakland • Beautiful wood artifacts —wall art, table art to beautiful sofas, tables and chairs, for both indoor and out.
RH | Restoration Hardware • Home + Accessories.
West Elm • Curated Home Furnishings + Select Kitchenware
World Market • A great selection of wooden bowls, accessories, and home goods.
Home Goods • As the name states; deeply discounted. So many options from sheets and towels to vases and lamps.
Happy shopping and I hope you find the perfect curated pieces that inspire you! Debbi

Debbi exemplifies a dynamic and multifaceted individual, constantly embracing new challenges and opportunities. Her journey is marked by continual self-improvement and a willingness to reinvent herself through various endeavors.
After her children left home, Debbi published her first book, “Contained Beauty, Photographs, Reflections and Swimming Pools,” which set the stage for her subsequent literary projects. With the encouragement of her clients, she co-authored “The Art of Real Estate” with Adam, paralleling their efforts in selling homes. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic saw Debbi release another book, “Beauty At Any Age, Because Age is Just An Attitude,” reinforcing her belief in the power of a positive mindset.
In addition to her writing, Debbi has ventured into entrepreneurship with a skincare line and a home fragrance brand, both aptly named Contained Beauty, reflecting the essence of her first book. Her extensive experience in real estate, spanning nearly 35 years, has made her a sought-after guest on numerous podcasts, where she shares her insights and expertise.
Debbi and Adam have also taken on personal real estate projects, including building their residence in Scottsdale, Arizona, and renovating fixer-uppers for the market. Their dedication to their craft is evident in every project they undertake.
In 2024, Debbi expanded her repertoire by launching her own real estate podcast, “Mastering The Art of Real Estate,” produced by Bold Brave TV. The podcast airs every Friday at 11 AM PST or 2 PM EST, providing a platform for her to share her knowledge and passion for real estate with a broader audience.
Looking ahead, Debbi is committed to serving her clients with unwavering dedication and passion. She is also keen on coaching and mentoring young adults aspiring to succeed in real estate or other business ventures.
Outside of her professional life, Debbi and Adam enjoy an active and adventurous lifestyle. They can often be found skiing in Colorado or Lake Tahoe, relaxing in St. Barth’s, or taking trips to Napa Valley for essential ingredients for Adam’s renowned Spicy Bolognese Sauce. Their favorite stops include the Napa Valley Olive Oil Manufacturing Co. and Bistro Don Giovanni.
In early 2024, Debbi embarked on a series of physical challenges, achieving remarkable feats. Starting her running journey on December 31, 2023, she has since completed three 10K races, one steep trail half marathon, the LA Marathon, and a Spartan Race at Dodger Stadium, with another Spartan Race on the horizon in June.
Debbi’s relentless pursuit of growth and excellence, both personally and professionally, continues to inspire those around her. Her story is a testament to the power of resilience, passion, and a positive attitude. Yet, her family is always her No 1 priority.
As Debbi was preparing her response to be a guest on another real estate podcast she tweaked her bio once again using Open Ai. Have you tried any of the AI apps? If so, which ones?

While sipping my coffee this morning I was thinking 🤔 it’s time to start that post Christmas declutter — here are a few tips for myself, and, if interested for you too.
Decluttering can be a liberating experience that helps create a more organized and peaceful living space. Here are some tips to help you declutter effectively:
1. Start small: Begin with one area or room at a time instead of trying to tackle your entire home all at once. This will make the process more manageable and less overwhelming.
2. Sort items into categories: Create separate piles or bins for items you want to keep, donate, sell, or throw away. This will help you make clearer decisions about what to keep and what to let go of.
3. Ask yourself key questions: When deciding whether to keep an item, ask yourself if you have used it in the past year, if it holds sentimental value, or if it serves a practical purpose. If the answer is no, it may be time to part ways with it.
4. Create a system: Establish a system for organizing your belongings, such as using labeled bins or storage containers. This will make it easier to find and access items when needed.
5. Be ruthless with clothing: Clothing can quickly accumulate and take up valuable space. Take the time to go through your wardrobe and donate or sell items that you no longer wear or that don’t fit properly.
6. Digitize paper documents: Scan important documents and store them digitally to reduce paper clutter. Shred or recycle unnecessary papers to free up space.
7. Maximize storage solutions: Use storage solutions such as shelves, hooks, and bins to maximize the use of vertical and hidden spaces. This can help keep surfaces clear and minimize visual clutter.
8. Maintain a clutter-free lifestyle: Once you have decluttered, make a conscious effort to be mindful of what you bring into your home. Regularly reassess your belongings and declutter as needed to prevent accumulation.
Remember, decluttering is a gradual process, so be patient with yourself. By taking small steps and consistently decluttering, you can create a more organized and serene living environment.
Why Buyers and Sellers should hire a qualified, licensed and local Realtor when selling or purchasing a home in California.
As a Realtor since 1989 I highly recommend that both homebuyers and home sellers partner with a qualified, licensed, professional Realtor when buying or selling a home. The following highlight 5 reasons why it’s wise even imperative to hire a professional Realtor
1. For buyers, it’s the seller who is responsible for paying the commission in California, so it would be foolish not to take advantage of the opportunity to work with an expert. Home buying has many aspects involved from identifying a competitive lender, sifting through disclosures, understanding local ordinances and inspections, writing the offer which is multiple pages and is always being updated and charged, negotiation, title, insurance and the closing, not to mention the human element that occurs during a high stake, high price and personal experience. Buying a home is one of the most expensive events in a persons lifetime.
2. Would you choose not to hire an attorney if you were being sued? It goes the same reasoning it’s recommended that both homebuyers and home sellers hire or partner with a Realtor. Buying and selling a home is a very detailed and emotional process not to mention, costly.
3. A Realtor will guide you every step of the way; they will counsel, offer advice, break down the process and dissuade you from potentially making a big wrong decision or many small mistakes.
4. An agent will connect you with a variety of professionals from service providers to reputable lenders and efficient escrow officers, to inspectors, insurance reps and more. And long after the transaction is closed most Realtors will be there for you for as long as you need to provide further referrals, resources and recommendations from interior designers, landscapers, attorneys, and even use their local connections to get you into a school or club. My husband and real estate partner, Adam Betta, helped our client get their children into pre school
5. Your buyer’s agent will provide insight and expertise and know what sorts of questions to ask the listing agent, service providers, lender, insurance agent. Your listing agent will be an invaluable resource to bring your home to market looking its best, walk you through pre market inspections, educate you on the nuances of the current market, through disclosures, the offer, negotiation and close.
Working with a knowledgeable agent has big upside and not working with one may potentially cause you heartache, headaches, lawsuits and great financial loss.

Not often does a home come up in Piedmont that is under $1,500,000. We can’t report the sale price yet, but these buyers will be happy once they settle in, do a little work and even expand the home down the road. If I got my hands on it I could make it shine. I do not look at a home the way it is, I see it in my minds eye imagining what I can do it. If you are interested in my vision I am always happy to share my ideas. Stanly Ranch opened April 2022 and is our recent favorite local destination retreat.
Stanly Ranch, Napa’s Newest Luxury Resort is another magnificent property in the Auberge Resorts Collection. We discovered this lovely new property in July and had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at the spa and poolside with friends.
The resort reminds me of DC Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona, a small community where we had a second home for many years.

“SERVICE FROM DEBBI & ADAM WAS FANTASTIC”
★
We have known Debbi since she was a little girl and have watched her progress thru the real estate business over the last 30 years. When we called her we expected to get good service but we were honestly wowed by both of them. Debbi, Adam and Chase are professional, knowledgeable but more important than anything, they both had a sense of urgency. And I mean rapid and accurate response. I have a consulting business and try to provide rapid urgent response to my clients. And I got that and more from Debbi and Adam. I would recommend them in a second, no conditions. They are good. And we got what we wanted. Best, Len and Mary Bertain ★ Read Other Testimonials

And if you are a REALTOR please reach out so we can discuss the possibility of partnering with you.
Honored to have closed $50M in 2021 while serving so many clients with their home sale, purchase, lease and referral, not including others we guided, showed homes and counseled throughout the year. And we could not do what we do for our clients without the help of our loyal service providers, stellar team members and family.
